“ This place is a little gem. The food ...kiss to the chef amazing. The atmosphere has a chill low key vibe. Lots of photo ops for your followers. Great outdoor seating, hanging lights and cool breeze. The head chef was personable...greeting and talking with every table. This is a must STOP if you're in Middletown. The outside venue has full service and everything you need. At first impressions the inside seating is small and attached to a hardware store. But turn the corner and you've traveled to a little paradise. This place is dog friendly and total promotes unwinding. ”
“ I had an amazing time at this restaurant. The ambiance was delightful from the moment I walked in, with a great atmosphere and warm hospitality. The waiter was really engaging and very helpful, making our first experience wonderful. The food was phenomenal. I can’t wait to return. Thank you to everyone who made it special. ”
“ We stopped for lunch on a cold winter day and had our rescue dog..didn't get pics of the food but it was great ..Chauncey loved his chicken breast! ”
“ It's simply amazing. I ordered the fried chicken, the glaze was sweet, and the chicken was crispy. Paired with some creamy mashed potatoes and some tasty baked beans. I just moved to the area and so far this place takes the cake. Great value on price here as well. ”
“ This was our first visit, just by chance, but we will surely be back. It’s a small informal place but the service is friendly and the food is phenomenal. I had the brisket, which was out of this world. Others had ribs (meaty and delicious bbq sauce) and fried chicken (boneless breast meat with light breading, juicy). It smells smokey and yummy when you enter, and the food lives up to the aroma. My only small complaint would be that the mashed potatoes were cold...I’m sure they would have rewarmed if I had asked. But in summary, I can heartily recommend Taino. I only wish we lived closer! ”
“ Great spot easy to drive by but that would be a mistake. Love the menu options. Meal is served quickly and hot. Definitely will return ”
“ So upon pulling in the parking lot it was rough and we almost left but that's not the restaurants fault and as soon as you pull in the smell of the delicious bbq inside grabs you. The outside seating area out front isn't bad and we were told the back seating was amazing but the inside was tight but quaint. The service was not bad but they were a little overly attentive which makes me a little apprehensive about the food sometimes but no complaints about taste or flavor. We started with the appetizers ( Alabama shrimp and BBQ egg rolls) amazing. Egg rolls could have been a meal. Then the brisket and pulled pork were mouth watering. The side choices were the usual for a BBQ joint and the collared greens were delicious and that's a big factor for us. A lot of spots screw them up but theirs were delicious. Also the spicy cabbage is a must try. A word of advice, the mango wheat ale so very much compliments the food. Would definitely stop again. If your over that way stop and try them out. You won't be disappointed. ”
“ My husband wanted to go for a Sunday drive and late lunch today due to the break in the rainy weather. As he was craving really good barbecue, he did a bit of research and found this awesome place, @tainosmokehouse in Middletown, CT. Not only was the food amazingly delicious and a great value for the amount you get, but we had the most wonderful, knowledgeable and sweet service from Amy W. Thank you for the tasty recommendations and yes, you were right...the 2 Meat combo is enough food for 2 starving hungry "good eaters". I mean, ee had leftovers to bring home! My favorite is their collard greens, their corn bread and their brisket (*mentioned this as the Google beta on items to recommend didn't have these), and, their house barbecue sauce. The other dishes we had there, like the baked beans, pulled pork, and their house sausage with fried onions and mustard are all very delicious. My husband also loved their BBQ egg rolls with their house made jalapeno ranch dressing. Plus, they offer a seasonal Mason jar dessert which, for the current season, is a bourbon peach confection with sponge cake, whipped cream and a caramel sauce. There ate so many other delicious looking menu items that we will be back in to try in the future as well (my money is on their burgers, the Texas chili, snd their giant brownie). If you want great barbecue in Connecticut, come here. And, take my advice, the beautiful outdoor patio dining area is the perfect place to enjoy the food. Trust me, the ambiance is relaxing and worth it. ”
